NATIONAL CADET CORPS

SUB UNIT COY 6/12 ARMY WING

The National Cadet Corps came in to existence on 16th April 1948, to function under the Ministry of Defence with the introduction of the National Cadet Corps Act (No.XXXI of 1948). The Corps was raised on 15th July 1948.

Our NCC Sub-unit is under army wing taken by 12 TAMIL NADU BATTALION NCC SALEM which is one of the battalion under Coimbatore headquarters. Our college NCC sub-unit was started in the year 2003/2004 with an allotment of 52 cadets (ARMY WING NCC).

TRAINING: Military training is imparted to the NCC Cadets from the Educational Institutions to achieve the aims of NCC. Apart from normal training, the NCC cadets are taught to develop personality, bearing endurance, courage, decisiveness, enthusiasm, ability of speech, self-confidence, loyalty, tactfulness and public speaking.

ABOUT OUR NCC UNIT

* Jayam College of Engineering and Technology unit comes under the 12 (BN) NCC Salem under Coimbatore group Tamil Nadu.

* The unit in our college was raised in 2003.

* Since 12 BN (TN) NCC, SALEM 52 senior division cadets vacancies are given to our college.

* Every week we conduct 2 hour parades in the morning and evening to train our cadets.

* Various training camps comprising of weapons training and fire training, etc are conducted every year for 10 days by 12 (TN) BN NCC Unit, Salem.

* Finally, 120 parades are attended by the cadets and ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate exams are attended by the cadets conducted by 12 (TN) BN NCC, Salem at under Coimbatore group Tamil Nadu and all over India.
